Shipping Damages

Following the guidelines below is essential if you receive a product that has been damaged. Carriers have become stringent with their policies and make it difficult to submit a claim if processes are not followed or timeframes are not met.

1. Ground Shipments (UPS, FedEx, SpeeDee, ASAP)

If possible, do not accept the delivery and refuse the package if damage is found.

If a signature is required, sign for the package as damaged if accepting the delivery and damage is suspected.

If the delivery was accepted, you may be asked to submit pictures of the damaged item and the shipping carton for claim purposes.

An American Radiator representative will instruct you as to whether the carrier will be picking up the damaged item from the shipping location if delivery is not refused.

Keep the original box and all packing that was included in the damaged shipment.

Inform American Radiator immediately of the damage issue. You can initiate the process by emailing [email protected] or by calling 877.203.4572.

Some ground carriers only allow 72 hours for a damage claim to be filed. Once the period has passed, the claim is denied by the carrier.

If a replacement item is needed, the customer will be billed for the item and credited back once the claim has been approved by the carrier.

2. LTL (Less-Than TruckLoad) Shipments (Regional and National Carriers)

You must inspect the shipment prior to signing for delivery. If damage is found, do not accept the delivery and refuse the shipment.

If accepting the delivery and damage is suspected, sign the POD as "Damaged - Subject To Inspection. If a shipment is signed for free and clear, most carriers will not approve a damage claim.

Inform American Radiator immediately of the damage issue, whether the package was signed for or not. You can initiate the process by emailing [email protected] or by calling 877-203-4572.

If the shipment is accepted, you will be asked to submit pictures of the damage to the shipping carton as it is on the pallet and of the item. The more pictures you have the better.

Some carriers require notification same day as delivery for any concealed damage if it was not noted on the POD.

If a replacement item is needed, the customer will be billed for the item and credited back once the claim has been approved by the carrier.
